Hello friends of Refcode!

We are asking for your support this Giving Tuesday to help us reach more refugees than ever before!

After a slowdown during COVID, this year we really ramped back up to speed:

• We ran two “Intro to Professional Software Engineering” cohorts
• We gave away almost 40 MacBook laptops to graduates
• We launched the Refcode Software Agency and hired Refcode grads to develop web applications for real clients
• We launched the the self-paced coding class, which ran simultaneously with the cohort class
• We had dozens of expert guest speakers and lessons in our tech talks, meetups, and classroom

In summary, we are building a community where refugees and immigrants can transform their lives through education, mentorship, and technology.

With your help, we will more than double our reach in 2023, running 4 cohorts instead of 2, simultaneously serving even more refugees through self-paced curriculum, and expanding the number of clients we take through the Software Agency.

Thanks to the community of Refcode grads and professional software engineers volunteering their time, we’re able to accomplish a lot with a small budget, but this year the primary thing holding us back from accomplishing all that we hoped for was money.

Donations to Refcode help us manage the logistics to keep all these events and programs running smoothly, and more importantly, help to increase our operating budget history which increases the chances that we’ll receive large grants in the future. (Most foundations do not like giving money to programs that don’t have a history of spending a lot of money!)
